This large bronze statue of St. Hugh had been sited high up on the exterior of a church since the 1890’s on a busy city crossroads. The constant exposure to the elements and environmental pollutants had resulted in significant surface corrosion. The original siting of the statue made it difficult to clean and maintain over the years, when the opportunity arose to bring him down he was cleaned, treated and polished.

All surface corrosion was treated and removed followed by polishing the bronze.
After restoration St. Hugh is now safely sited inside the church and also ensuring access for his continued care for the future.
